Through the Storm
The Solar Storms Saga - Book 1
About the series
Through the Storm is the first book of the new five-book Solar Storms saga. Six storms churn and boil on the surface of the sun. These storms grow over several weeks until they encompass an area fifteen times the size of Earth. Gradually, the superheated mass reaches a temperature of over ten million degrees Celsius and explodes as a solar flare.
Much of the plasma falls back to the sun but, on the edge of the magnetic fields, several planet-sized clouds are snapped like a whip, break free of the sun’s gravity, and hurtle into space. These coronal mass ejections hit the earth producing a Carrington-like event that knocks technology back more than a hundred years.
About Through the Storm
Neal Evans is in Nevada when he hears that an immense coronal mass ejection will soon slam into the Earth’s magnetosphere. Will it cause only beautiful auroras to dance across the night sky or will it throw technology back a hundred years? Politicians and scientists are still debating when Neal decides to act. As night falls, Neal has ten hours to get home before CME strikes.
Drake Evans is a happy high school freshman. His older brother, Conner, who was supposed to be watching over him, has gone on a hunting trip and his father is away at a convention. It’s party time!
As the world sinks into darkness, Neal and Conner must confront a dangerous new world on their long journeys home and Drake, alone on the farm, must become a man even before he figures out his teen years.
