Beginning a New Story

There is something special about the beginning of a new novel. Before the first chapter is written, the world exists only in the imagination. Characters are little more than names and personalities waiting to reveal themselves. Entire civilizations, star systems, and histories are still hidden, waiting to be discovered.

That's where I find myself today.

After releasing Who Paints the Sky, I've turned my attention fully to a new military science fiction novel. I don't have all the answers yet. In fact, I rarely do when I begin. I know the people I want to follow, the conflict they must face, and the questions I'd like to explore. The rest comes one chapter at a time.

For me, writing isn't simply telling a story—it's taking a journey alongside my characters. Sometimes they surprise me. Sometimes they refuse to cooperate. But every day I sit down at the keyboard hoping to uncover another piece of their world.

I don't know exactly where this adventure will lead, but I do know this: I love the process of discovery as much as reaching the final page.

Thank you for joining me on this journey. I look forward to sharing more about this new project in the months ahead.

Now it's time for me to get back to creating my next story. There's a starship waiting to be built
